WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT
Dolly Parton founded Imagination Library in 1996 with a vision to foster a love of reading among preschool children and their families. Reading aloud is widely recognized as the single most important activity leading to literacy comprehension. Children raised in homes with 25 books or more pursue 3 more years of school than children from homes without books. The children that participate in the Imagination Library program demonstrate higher kindergarten readiness levels.
Imagination Library of Blount County is free to join and currently serves 74% of eligible children in our community.
